Leading provider of respiratory monitoring technology, PMD Solutions saw outstanding success at this year’s MEDICA event. Showcasing its revolutionary RespiraSense™ product, the high growth early stage medical device company was invited by Enterprise Ireland to be part of the Irish pavilion where they were represented on a world stage among some of the globes leading Medtec organisations.

PMD Solutions, an industry-leading medical technology company based in Cork Ireland, today announced its successful enrolment in the NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) Programme as part of the NIA’s official kick-off launch event which took place in London this week.

SBRI Healthcare, the small Business Research Initiative for Healthcare (SBRI Healthcare), is an NHS England Initiative, led by the country’s 15 Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs). Its role is to promote UK economic growth by spreading innovation and best practice across the NHS. Winners receive fully funded development contracts between the awarded company and NHS England to meet known healthcare needs.

PMD Solutions is one of 38 innovative SMEs across Europe selected from the latest round of Horizon 2020 SME Instrument (Phase 2). The funding will be used to finance innovation activities like demonstration, testing, piloting, scaling up and miniaturisation, in addition to developing a mature business plan for their product. The companies will also benefit from 12 days of business coaching.

PMD Solutions has received regulatory approvals for the sales and marketing of the RespiraSense Continuous Respiratory Monitoring device across the European Union.

 
This milestone now enables PMD Solutions to establish a wider presence by leveraging European approvals in countries on other continents.

On Sunday 16th it was announced that PMD Solutions was to be a finalist of the IMDA Medical Technology Industry Excellence Emerging Company of the Year 2014.
